Listen to electronic dance music daily. Trance, house, drum and bass, breaks, techno, and more recently a variety of hard dance like hard style, hard techno, hard nrg, and dutch hardcore. Dance music is made for dancing. I find the experience of dancing intense, and am disappointed more people don't feel it. I love seeing others let go of their inhibitions and really dance too. I listen to electronic dance music daily. Recently my music of choice has been primarily Dutch and Italian hardcore (gabber), hardstyle, and hard techno (schranz). It's music for troubled souls, maybe that's where I am right now, but I used to listen to mostly hard trance, tech trance, progressive trance, progressive house, and drum and bass, and to a lesser extent some electro, break beats, minimal and perhaps a peculiarity, finrg. I was always wanted to know about other genres, but didn't take to anything else with great enthusiasm until a recent stay in Europe where I really took to the harder styles. I have always loved that electronic sound and I prefer music that brings a lot of energy. From the nineties, my favorite band will always be No Doubt, but even today, I must be getting older, the popular rock music of the nineties strikes a chord with me when I happen to hear it, even though I wasn't into much of it at the time. I am up for the odd rock show but prefer my electronic sounds.

I like how the city is always moving, the variety and accessibility of musical events, it's conveniences, not always having to have a car, and not having to sit in traffic for over an hour to get to a job downtown from the suburbs. While some cities are better than others, I have been disappointed that people in cities are colder, in some they are stressed and always fighting each other to get ahead, every man for himself. There the decay of the social fabric of society is most evident, not something I want to be on the leading edge of. Central europe has some absolutely fantastic things to enjoy, and for my taste in my music, it does not get any better, but I did find the people to be less pleasant than on the west coast of North America. 

Conversely, I also love the mountains, the forest, the beach. Love, love, love to ski, it's expensive but snow is incredible, allowing us to do seemingly impossible things on skis or a snowboard, and the views are so often spectacular. Unfortunately I don't think I could handle being alone all by myself in a small ski town in the mountains, as appealing as the advantages are, but I could see settling down in such a place some day where people are laid back and friendly, surrounded by the majesty of God's creation, every day, and really experiencing the beauty and benefits of every season, though I am especially fond of winter.

Personality wise, I am quiet person in general. I am Considerate of others, in fact I worry about it a little too much, but I find it hard not to be so concerned that my actions may harm or offend someone. This could be viewed as a weakness, and it's true that being nice doesn't get you ahead in this system, but I cannot help but consider it very important. Seemingly contradictory, I love manic energy, to be really excited, intense dancing to intense music or intense skiing, I think it gives me an adrenaline rush and I feel alive. I believe I am quite eccentric. I have trouble understanding why peoples perspective, mentality, taste, etc. in general are so different from mine, and I know almost no one in the truth that possess characteristics that in me are dominant, such as what I just mentioned. I make efforts to associate with the brothers and sisters as opportunities arise, such as going to watch a hockey game even though I am not a hockey person, but perhaps because of my differences and my reserved nature I often have difficulties integrating well into the group. So although I love the company of others and nearly cannot stand to be alone, I am generally by myself, and with age and a few moves the more that is the case.

I work in a construction trade, and I actually enjoy my job. Engineering had been a consideration, I love sciences and math and even enjoy going to school. I didn't know I was going to stick with it but so far I am glad I am doing what I do now, and even wish I had done it sooner. It's a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I have volunteered on a couple of kingdom hall projects as well, and would like to do so a little more often. I speak french have been in a french language congregation in europe, and will likely be attending a french language group here in 2011.
