Application server upgraded
2011-10-17 19:20:05It is our pleasure to announce upgrade of application server web2py which powers JWFind.net website. Sorry for the related downtime which lasted about 5 hours.
Trend: slightly more messaging than chatting
2011-08-10 18:42:481346 approved site members exchanged 48000 messages and 735000 chat lines. The new numbers indicate slight move from chatting to messaging - 41% increase in total number of messages vs 32% in total number of chat posts since last recording.
A bit longer responses from admins

Pioneering efforts in April

Several upgrades

Comments function upgraded
2011-01-27 23:41:35Since now, if somebody comments your content or replies on your own comments, you may be notified by e-mail. Enable or disable the notifications in your settings. Further, on "My home" page you will find recent friends' comments and comments attached to your content.
Search and match functions updated
2011-01-17 17:04:05Search and match functions allow to sort all site members according to used search criteria. Since the update, the functions do not include the profiles which are very far from the criteria (those with negative search/match result). We believe the changed functions are more practical.
New title page, remarks function
2011-01-15 23:16:37We updated the title page with a new text, reflecting the aim of JWFind.net better. We have a new function called members' remarks, members may publicly comment the site itself since now.
More intuitive layout of galleries

Important bugfix
2011-01-03 10:56:17Finally we tracked down memory leak in the application, which required to restart the application server quite often and was affecting overall performance and stability. :)
Personal ban function renamed to 'block'
2011-01-01 19:42:02Site admins may ban users who behave badly, effectively preventing their presence on JWFind.net site. Another function, called initially "personal ban" is in hands of site members and it has been designed as a last resort for cases when other member does not respect polite requests to stop communication attempts. This function has been renamed to "block" to avoid confusion and to express better its purpose.
Completely rewritten poke function
2010-12-31 15:37:29The new function allows you to poke members who are online without leaving a page. Poke and popup boxes are more functional and better explained now.

2010-06-20 06:25:33News related to Witnesses and to freedom of religion are displayed on the title jwfind.net page. The news are being aggregated from jw-media.org and from forum18.org, further relevant sources will be included soon. The news may be commented and also added to personal wall similarly to other content.

2010-06-12 21:49:52We enriched the site with headings of articles from watchtower.org. Members may add article headings which they like to their wall and comment them. For each day there are two randomly selected "featured articles" displayed on site title page.
Gallery function upgraded

Internet Explorer issues solved
2010-05-30 07:43:59Compatibility issues which appeared after last "profile color" upgrade have been solved. We wish to keep the site compatible with all major browsers.
Profile color function
2010-05-29 08:02:36You may pick your favourite color for your profile. The color will be used in various contexts within the site - in border decorating your profile sections, as a color of your nick in user listings and also in chat.
Search forms more convenient
2010-05-21 21:39:21Both simple and advanced search and matching forms have been slightly upgraded. Now it is not necessary to select importance of search criteria manually.
New content and country listings
2010-05-18 20:36:03All media, galleries and blogs shared to public are available directly from title page. Title page also newly offers quick listings of users according to their country of residence.
Antiscam policy update
2010-05-16 06:48:48Users are being prompted to be careful before sharing their e-mail, YM and other direct contacts. Anyone WHO ASKS FOR DIRECT CONTACT or OFFERS DIRECT CONTACT without significant previous communication within the site is acting against the recommendation and his account MAY BE TERMINATED.
Search and chat updated
2010-05-01 21:18:09Search, matching and all approved members listings have been paginated. Further, it is more convenient to go back to the results from detail views now. You may conveniently invite online members to join chat directly from chat room with a new 'quick poke' function.
Stats: 5000th message delivered
2010-04-30 11:10:55JWFind.net web reached 20851 visits today with average 15 minutes spent per visit. 607 users applied for registration and 396 were approved. We delivered 5019th message today and 83456th chat post in one of 26 chat rooms. 741 pictures were shared in galleries and users 571-times commented each other's profile. Thanks for your interest!
New chat function: kick
