JWFind.net message limiter

There is a message limiter function in action on the site. The limiter is intended to help to guard users from non-verified users and also motivate valid users to choose their recipients choicely and compose messages attentively, thus shield the recipients from amounts of (possibly unwanted) initial messages.

Message limiter decision making

If there is an attempt to send a message by the site, the program asks itself question-by-question:

  1. Is the sender not signed yet (e.g. just visitor of the site)? - refuse the attempt
  2. Has the sender not filled the profile yet? - refuse
  3. Has the profile not been approved yet? - refuse
  4. Has the profile been refused? - refuse
  5. Has the recipient blocked the sender? - refuse
  6. Is the recipient friend of the sender? - allow
  7. Did the recipient send a message to the sender before? - allow
  8. Do recipient allow initial messages only from friends and the sender is not a friend yet? - refuse
  9. Did the sender sent lesser than limit of 14 messages to non-friends-yet during the last 7 days already? - allow
  10. Otherwise - refuse

We would welcome your comments or recommendations on the limiter!
